Starter exercise: Laying a toned ground with a pencil to create a halftone.
Main exercise: You will be using a specific light source and a reflective cylindrical object set up as a still life. A consideration of eye-level and simple perspective will be taught in order to develop and create a realistic representation of the subject.
A range of drawing pencils will be used. You will be shown how to establish the form by
initially drawing in the dark tones and then lifting out the highlights to create a magical interpretation of the subject.
